Shame on me for not posting the last two days; they were very busy days. Yesterday was Child Dedication Day at our church and our 4 year celebration and it was fantastically fun!
Today was Pure Cardio! YIKES! I was sweating in places I didn't know you could sweat. This week I decided to take it up a notch and push harder. Next week is Recovery week, so it seemed like a good idea to amp it up the week before recovery (and we'll be out of town that week visiting family, too). I now I have a much better sense of the form I need to have while performing the exercises and it makes all the difference.
The first few weeks he kept saying keep your core tight and I had no idea what that felt like to know if my flabby core was tight or not, but now I do. My muscles are getting stronger and I'm building stamina. I still can't always keep up with Shaun T and his minions (lol). So, don't feel bad if you can't either. I also take LOTS of breaks and go back to the exercise we were doing.
Today, I made an amazing recover shake: Key Lime Pie!
In honor of the pretty warm Tennessee Spring weather, I'm sharing!
So, here it is:
-FitJourneyMom
KEY LIME PIE SHAKE:
1 scoop Vanilla protein powder (I'm using Muscle Milk)
1 cup Organic Whole milk (trust me if you are cutting calories daily to lose weight then you really need full fat milk- your body loves it)
4 tablespoons Lime juice
1 tablespoon cream cheese pudding mix
1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
graham cracker to crumble a little garnish (ooh, a lime wedge would be good if you had one)
(if you'd like it to be green you can add food coloring OR spinach)
ADD ice cubes to make it thick and yummy
ENJOY! :)

Created by MyFitnessPal - Free Weight Loss Tools
So today starts week 3 :) I have lost 5.4# and its been a big difference in how my clothing fits already and I feel great! Today I will do my second Fit Test to track progress. I was thinking about posting my initial numbers with today's numbers for you to also see progress with the program. I also wanted to share one of my favorite protein shakes to date! It's a little chilly in Tennessee today after all our Spring weather, so I was in the mood for something with a warm sense to it. I found a recipe for Cinnamon Roll Shakeology (althought I am currently using Vanilla Muscle Milk). It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, here it is:
CINNAMON ROLL PROTEIN SHAKE
1 scoop Vanilla Muslce Milk
1 cup Horizon Organic whole milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Butter Extract
1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon raw organic honey
1 small banana
(ice cubes as desired to thicken it up- I add so many I ususally have to add in a little water so I don't destroy my blender lol)
ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY!!!!!!!!!! :)
God Bless,

Catchup!
Sorry Guys! I fell behind on giving you progress because I've been working overtime and by the end of the day I was so exhausted I completely forgot to get on here.
This is the end of week 2! I missed a day this week, but persisted with keeping my calorie count in check. Today's workout was horrific for me. After feeling like I was making some progress in strength and endurance in my workouts, I nearly died when, today's, I did Pure Cardio and added Cardio Abs! Die! Die! Die! My core hurt so bad I was yelling as I tried to complete some of the exercises and there were some I couldn't even move to try! Lol
Tomorrow is my weigh in day! I already feel so much better. Hang in there if you are trying too!

Insanity week 1
This was day 6 of Insanity, tomorrow I'll rest, weigh in and post week 1 results.
Today started the routine over: Pylometric Cardio Circuit Day!
It was pure torture, but in only a week I've gotten better at some exercise, more flexible, and I'm able to keep up a little longer than when I started. Progress in baby steps! Keep it strong guys, if you're on your own fitness journey, I hope I encourage you to keep it up!
Here's a new protein shake recipe I've been given by a friend. Trust me, you will not be sorry if you make it!
VANILLA BIRTHDAY CAKE PROTEIN SHAKE!
1 scoop favorite vanilla protein powder
1 cup water or milk
1 teaspoon butter extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 tablespoon pudding mix
Add ice to make it thicker! -Enjoy :)
I used muscle milk, 1/2 c water, 1/2 c whole milk, the extracts and pudding mix, and ice= 250 calories
If I'd counted as I measured the ingredients, I would have used a whole cup of milk for a few more good calories, but I calculated afterwards. The water didn't affect the taste at all this TASTES AMAZING!

Day 5 Pure Cardio/cardio abs
Yes, this is really how I felt as I lay in the floor trying to breath and make myself get up. I thought,

I can't wait to post results on Sunday! Keep it up if your doing this journey with me!
God bless and have a great weekend,
